Summary: Studies on the performance of classifier systems have focused on treating their input data. This research consists in carrying out a study on the best choice of the set of vectors of output of an artificial neural system that produces the best recognition result.

B - Research project: Investigation of surface electromyography as a tool in the development of alternative communication devices used by patients with motor dysfunctions

Summary: Este intercâmbio relaciona-se com a pesquisa que propõe a investigação da atividade elétrica detectada sobre a superfície de músculos, conhecida como eletromiografia (EMG) de superfície, as an alternative tool capable of improving the performance of communication devices used by patients with motor dysfunctions. The main result of this project will be the development and evaluation of a communication system, called EMGAAC. Results obtained with the proposed system will be compared with those obtained through more traditional systems. C - Decomposition and analysis of brainstem auditory evoked potentials. (Project FAPEMIG TEC 00009/07 and TEC APQ-2481-6.01/07)

Summary: This exchange is related to the project that proposes the development of tools for the analysis and decomposition of auditory evoked potentials. The tools and results obtained will be validated and evaluated by experienced clinical and professional studies (e.g., speech therapists) of the area.
